I'm still laughing at the email received from a family member yesterday. I SO wish I could share. And this person does not even know just how much entertainment he provided. Suffice it to say it went into the "Save" file. I'm going to have a plethera of material to write a book one day. Thanks y'all!

The names have been changed to protect the guilty but it is just too good!:
ReplyDeleteWell, I am sending you all some "breaking news" from here in Cleveland. Eddie has been dating a lady for some months and I have been feeling that things were getting pretty serious. She is from Mongolia and actually studied in a seminary there. She was also married to a minister, but he turned out to be rather terrible. One of Ed's big clients, who has helped to build several churches in Mongolia, met her and arranged for her to come to the States about three years ago. Her name is Elba Koselando and she has two sons, 10 and 15. (Don't hold me to it, but their names are spelled something like this: xxxx and yyyy) We have not been around her but a couple of times, but she seems like such a sweet lady -- not with a silver spoon in her mouth, but one who appreciates the simple things --- and, she is a pretty thing, although not what one might refer to as a trophy wife.
At any rate, the bottom line is that Ed called me yesterday morning to say that he was getting married this weekend and wanted me to perform the ceremony. He also told me that she was pregnant! At 42 that could pose a problem, but we are hoping not. Ed has so much wanted to be a father, so maybe he will be at this late date. This is not the way we would have hoped that things would progress, but perhaps they both, consciously or unconsciously, needed to have a push to take the risk of another marriage. So, basically we are happy that he seems happy and will just hope that this one turns out to be a winner.
The wedding is going to be held at Evan's house at 3pm tomorrow (Sunday). Initially, Ed was going to have sort of a secret wedding, but I told him that it would be far better to have people around who loved him and would even be upset if he did not invite them. So, about 35 people are now coming.
Well, enough of this --- Eddie asked me to send this news out to Mississippi, so here it is.
Hope all is well with you guys, Love Ed, Sr.
Ha! You are not scared are you, babies? Love it!
